Wakulla County Property Appraiser Search: Free Parcel, Map, Tax & Sales Lookup
The official Wakulla County Property Appraiser search is a free public lookup for real property, tangible personal property and tax-related parcel information. You can search by owner, parcel ID or location, then open the full property record to review values, sales, land data, building information, exemptions and parcel-map context.
The search also includes an advanced tool for sales research, acreage, subdivision, neighborhood, section-township-range, property use and construction-year filters. That makes it useful for more than a simple owner lookup.

How to Use the Wakulla County Property Appraiser Search
The public search accepts parcels, tangible personal property records and tax-related searches by ID, name or location. For a normal home or parcel, start with the Parcel Records search.

The search is public and opens without creating an account.
Open Free Wakulla Property SearchUse the strongest information you have
Parcel ID is normally the cleanest search. If you do not know it, search by owner name or property location.
Confirm the correct parcel
Match the owner, location, parcel number, acreage and legal or keyline description before relying on a value.
Read the complete record
Review value history, sales, buildings, land lines, extra features, exemptions and any linked TRIM notice or property record card.
Move to the correct next system
Use the parcel’s tax-bill link for payment research, the GIS map for location context or the Clerk for recorded deeds and liens.
After opening the official search
- Use Parcel Records for real estate.
- Enter a parcel ID, owner name or location.
- Open the result that matches the address and parcel number.
- Check the year heading before comparing values.
- Use the links on the parcel page for tax bills, TRIM, property record cards or the map when available.

2026 Wakulla Homestead, Save Our Homes & Senior Exemption Information
Wakulla requires a homestead application through the Property Appraiser. The property must meet Florida ownership and permanent-residence requirements as of January 1.
Homestead documents Wakulla lists
- Recorded evidence of ownership such as the deed or contract
- Social Security information for owners as required
- Florida driver’s license or Florida identification showing the homestead address
- Current Florida vehicle registrations with the updated address
- Additional proof of permanent residency when requested
After opening the exemption page
- Review the homestead eligibility rules.
- Gather the required identification and residency documents.
- Use the online application link or the DR-501 form.
- If moving from another Florida homestead, prepare the previous property’s address, parcel ID, county and abandonment date for portability.
- Verify the exemption later on your parcel record or TRIM notice.
2026 Save Our Homes cap
The statewide Save Our Homes assessment limitation for 2026 is 2.7%. For a qualifying homestead, the annual assessed-value increase is generally limited to the lower of 3% or the applicable CPI change.
The cap limits assessed value—not market value, tax rates or the total final bill.
Additional senior exemption
Wakulla’s exemption information lists an additional $50,000 homestead exemption for qualifying residents age 65 and older with limited income. The Florida Department of Revenue’s adjusted household-income limit for the 2026 tax year is $38,686.
Open Wakulla Exemption & Property FormsUseful forms on this page
- Use DR-501 for homestead exemption.
- Use DR-501T for transfer of homestead assessment difference when portability applies.
- Use DR-501SC for the additional senior exemption.
- Use DR-482 for agricultural classification.
- Use the Wakulla change-of-address form when the mailing address needs correction.
Business Equipment, Rental Assets & Agricultural Classification
Tangible Personal Property
Wakulla defines TPP as taxable property used in a business or rental activity that is not real estate, such as furniture, tools, machinery, signs, computers, equipment, leasehold improvements and certain rental furnishings.
Regular return deadline: April 1.
The office also provides a 2026 TPP extension request. Florida law allows an initial extension of up to 30 days and a discretionary additional extension of up to 15 days.
Agricultural Classification
January 1 is the assessment date for property classification, and the regular deadline for an agricultural-classification application is March 1.
Wakulla’s parcel system is especially useful for rural land because records can separate agricultural land lines, including timber classifications, from other land values.
Wakulla County Property Tax Search, Payment Discounts & Delinquency
The Wakulla County Tax Collector receives the certified tax roll from the Property Appraiser and handles tax bills, receipts and payment.
Search Wakulla Property TaxesAfter opening the tax search
- Use only one search method at a time.

- For an owner search, start with the last name only if a full name returns no result.

| Payment Timing | Regular Discount / Result |

| December | 3% discount |

What to Do if Your Wakulla Property Value or Exemption Looks Wrong
The Property Appraiser’s annual calendar places TRIM notices in mid-August. Your TRIM notice shows the current proposed assessment, exemptions, proposed taxes and the exact deadline for a Value Adjustment Board petition.
Check the parcel record for factual errors
Review acreage, land classification, building size, year built, extra features, sales and exemption status.
Contact the Property Appraiser first
An informal discussion can resolve an incorrect property fact or explain how the assessment was developed.
Use the deadline printed on the TRIM notice
Wakulla’s Clerk states that petitions must be received by the VAB Clerk by the end of the business day on the deadline shown on the TRIM notice. A late postmark does not preserve a missed deadline.
File DR-486 and the applicable fee
The regular filing fee is $50. Certain timely filed homestead-denial or homestead-tax-deferral petitions are not subject to that filing fee.
Prepare hearing evidence early
Current VAB rules require a petitioner to provide the Property Appraiser with the evidence list, witness summary and documentation at least 15 days before the hearing.
After opening the VAB page
- Read the filing-fee and deadline instructions.
- Open the DR-486 Request for Hearing Petition.
- Use the parcel number shown on the TRIM notice.
- Submit the petition in person or by mail using the Clerk’s current instructions.
- Do not mail cash.
- Keep copies of your petition, payment and evidence.
Use the Wakulla County Clerk for Recorded Property Documents
The Property Appraiser parcel page is useful for ownership and assessment research, but deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments and other recorded instruments are maintained by the Clerk of Circuit Court & Comptroller.
After opening Official Records
- Search by the owner or party name when researching title history.
- Use recording information from the Property Appraiser’s sales history when available.
- Open the matching deed, mortgage, lien or judgment.
- Use an unofficial online copy for ordinary research.
- Request an electronically certified copy when an official certified record is required.
Current published recording charges
| Recording Item | Published Fee |
|---|---|
| First page | $10.00 |
| Each additional page | $8.50 |
| More than four names | $1.00 per additional name |
| Deed documentary stamp tax | $0.70 per $100 of consideration |
Wakulla Property Searches That Need Extra Attention
Wakulla Gardens
The advanced search includes subdivision filtering, which is useful where similar street names or numerous small lots make a basic address search too broad.
Rural Timber & Acreage
Check every land line. Agricultural or timber classifications can cause assessed and taxable values to look very different from the parcel’s overall market value.
Panacea, Shell Point & Coastal Areas
Use the appraiser map for parcel context, but confirm zoning, flood, permitting and buildability through the responsible planning, building and flood-information agencies rather than treating appraisal data as final.
St. Marks
Municipal property can be subject to a different mix of taxing authorities than an otherwise similar unincorporated parcel. Review the tax district and actual tax bill before comparing taxes.
Sopchoppy
For larger or rural parcels, compare acreage, property use and land classification before using a nearby sale as a valuation benchmark.
Recent Purchase
Check the Clerk’s recorded deed if the Property Appraiser still shows a previous owner. Different county systems can update on different schedules after recording.
